For Novice Parents
We realise that when you are a new parent you will have plenty of questions. Feel free to ask any committee member, parent or coach for advice or help.
Two or three parents of returning rowers will be designated early in the season to provide mentoring, information and advice to novice parents. Otherwise, please feel free to contact email@example.com with any queries you may have.
A Squad Manager represents each age group squad and helps liaise between the boys, age group parents, coaches and Committee. It's not an onerous job and is a good way to become more involved with the Club - if you would like to be your son's Squad Manager, please let any of the committee members know.
Athletes are encouraged to ask coaches for feedback and to raise any matters of concern directly with the coach. It is important to foster a sense of ownership and responsibility over our athlete's performance.
All enquiries about rowing at Auckland Grammar School should be addressed to firstname.lastname@example.org. Further information about the rowing season will be communicated through the Auckland Grammar School Rowing website.
Students driving cars
Students with restricted or full licences may be permitted to drive to and from rowing trainings. Auckland Grammar Rowing does not permit students to drive themselves to regattas or training camps.
Normal school rules in relation to students driving vehicles apply at all times. The School's rules on students driving motor vehicles may be read here. In particular, it is important to note that these rules state the following:
"Passengers are not permitted unless approval is granted by the Deputy Headmaster (Senior School)" and that "any acts of inappropriate or illegal driving may result in the removal of the right to bring the vehicle to School or to use it for a School activity. Matters of this nature may be referred to the Police."
